Most chapters are successful in providing concise, yet complete, synopses of specific topics. The section on Acanthamoeba polyphaga mimivirus summarizes the data on this intra-amoebic virus, eloquently reviewing the evidence for and against its pathogenicity. The chapter on hepatitis E covers everything from its discovery to diagnostics, epidemiology, and vaccine development. With 336 references, it is a comprehensive review on hepatitis E.
