It is certain that some tinned meat provided for the troops upon the troop-ship Arawa was found unfit for use and had to be thrown overboard, but what was the source of the meat-supply or the cause of its condition is yet in nubibus. The report that it was some of the very canned beef which attained such notoriety during America's Cuban campaign does not appear to be supported.
