One of the latest cases is that in which a child was suffered to die for lack of proper treatment while the healers were telegraphing to the notorious Dowie for the benefit of his "absent prayers." The especially aggravating feature of the case, however, was the aggressive policy and behavior of the faith healer. After the father had called a physician, under whose treatment the child had begun to mend, the "divine healers" actively interfered and destroyed the medicines left. Another physician was called by a relative and they constantly and actively interfered with the attendant left in charge by the doctor.
