Guéniot, the author summarizes his conclusions as follows: The idea of combating obstinate vomiting of pregnancy with a single remedy or mode of practice seems to be quite erroneous, as its uselessness has been proved by experience. No one therapeutical agent has been shown to exercise a constant curative effect. This is as we should expect inasmuch as the obstinate vomiting of pregnancy is dependent upon a variety of causes arising from three organs or systems, first, the uterus, which at once is the very focus of pregnancy and a source of special excitement affecting the other organs. Second, the nervous system, (spinal and ganglionic) which by the aid of its reflex power transmits the excitement to other organs.
