TY - JOUR T1 - THe entertainments. Y1 - 1889/07/20 N1 - 10.1001/jama.1889.04440020023008 JO - Journal of the American Medical Association SP - 95 EP - 95 VL - XIII IS - 3 N2 - The provisions made by the Committee of Arrangements, by the citizens of Newport, and by the medical profession of the State of Rhode Island, were in every respect all that could be desired, and nothing but an enthusiastic interest in the real work of the Association could have prevented its members from giving themselves over to a continued round of most attractive entertainments at the City of Newport. Let not the loyalty of the Association to its work in hand lead the good people of that city and State to infer that their generous hospitalities were not, to the fullest extent appreciated.A day never to be forgotten was that when—after the Association-work was over—the Rhode Island Medical Society treated their guests to an old-fashioned "clam-bake" on the shores of Narraganset Bay.
