The two projecting prongs are springs; by compressing these, tubes of smaller size may be employed.Figure 2 shows the test-tube holder in position, and also a metal tent frame (a) constructed of brass, consisting of a center piece 2 inches broad, 24 inches long, and 1/12 inch thick, supported by legs 3/16 inch in diameter and 36 inches from tip to tip, with brass knobs on ends so as not to tear the bed-clothes.
