Gastrointestinal disorders are accountable for 185 deaths, or more than 31 per cent. of the total for the week from all causes; 167 of these 185 deaths were among children under 2 years of age. This record exceeds the preceding week by 39, and is 23 higher than the corresponding week of last year.
