TY - JOUR T1 - QUain's anatomy. vol. i. embryology. Y1 - 1909/03/13 N1 - 10.1001/jama.1909.02540370071030 JO - Journal of the American Medical Association SP - 913 EP - 913 VL - LII IS - 11 N2 - This work has long been a recognized authority in anatomy and the present edition is fully up to previous standards. Much new matter has been added, especially in the way of illustrations. The customary chapters on general embryology and fetal development are followed by chapters on the growth of the various organs and systems. In the section on morphogenesis of the spinal cord and brain, a number of original photographs and drawings have been added which help to illuminate this intricate subject. The sections on the development of the special sense organs are also enlarged. The thanks of students and teachers are especially due to the publishers for the excellent index, a point too often overlooked in scientific text-books. Not the least attractive feature is the fact that this work is published in four small volumes, which are much more convenient to use than a single cumbersome book would be.
