GLASS, MD, a 45-year-old psychiatrist, has been named deputy editor of The Journal of the American Medical Association and deputy vice president for scientific information. He is the second person to fill the deputy editor's position, which was established in 1975 and was held from August of that year until her retirement in January 1988 by M. Therese Southgate, MD.For the past 4 years, Glass has been director of Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Services at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics and associate professor of psychiatry at that institution's medical school. He's been a member of the editorial board of the Archives of General Psychiatry since 1984, was assistant to the chief editor there from 1980 to 1984, and has been a consulting editor of JAMA since 1987.
