The authors are highly regarded authorities in their fields.Following a section on fundamentals of diagnostic imaging, the textbook is organized by an organ system approach that includes the central nervous, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular systems. There is also a large section devoted to aspects of the female patient that includes obstetric, fetal, and gynecologic sonography as well as mammography.In general, the sections are well organized with introductory chapters covering radiological techniques for evaluation of each organ system, followed by specific disease categories. Exceptional chapters include "Risks of Medical Imaging," "Central Nervous System Infection," "Orbital Neoplasms," "Introduction to Chest Radiography," "Diseases of the Mediastinum," "Infectious Pneumonias," "The Liver and Spleen," "The Pancreas," and the entire section on the genitourinary system.
