Recent data show that a significant number of school-aged youth are in need of an adequate source of health care. School-based health programs constitute a promising avenue for providing health services to adolescents, particularly in medically underserved areas. Although there are insufficient data to support universal establishment of school-based health programs, small-scale studies suggest that such programs are a viable means to increase access to health care for youth.(JAMA. 1989;261:1939-1942) SN - 0098-7484 M3 - doi: 10.1001/jama.1989.03420130107033 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/jama.1989.03420130107033 ER -
