TY - JOUR T1 - MOdern trends in infertility and conception control AU - Tulsky AS Y1 - 1979/07/13 N1 - 10.1001/jama.1979.03300020062038 JO - JAMA SP - 194 EP - 194 VL - 242 IS - 2 N2 - This book is a compilation of 36 contributions to the fields of infertility, reproductive endocrinology, and conception control from the Journal of Fertility and Sterility. It is generally a well-written volume, but there is some unevenness in the quality of the individual chapters ranging from the mundane on "Traumatic Hypomenorrhea-Amenorrhea," to the excellent and sophisticated "Current Concepts of Prolactin Physiology in Normal and Abnormal Conditions."In general, there is a good mix involving diagnosis and management of clinical problems and assessment of new techniques in the laboratory and in the treatment rooms. Some overlapping of material exists, but it is unobtrusive. Endoscopy, although referred to by a number of authors, does not have a separate chapter. A social and historical review of male contraception and family planning is an often-neglected and, therefore, welcome addition to this volume. The few tables, graphs, and figures are clear. Most chapters have extensive bibliographies. SN - 0098-7484 M3 - doi: 10.1001/jama.1979.03300020062038 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/jama.1979.03300020062038 ER -
