TY - JOUR T1 - WAtchband superficial radial neurapraxia AU - Rask MR Y1 - 1979/06/22 N1 - 10.1001/jama.1979.03290510016011 JO - JAMA SP - 2702 EP - 2702 VL - 241 IS - 25 N2 - To the Editor.—  In 1978 I reported three cases of patients who showed development of superficial radial neuritis from de Quervain's disease.1 An unusual cause of superficial radial neurapraxia came to my attention recently.Report of a Case.—  The patient was a 46-year-old cocktail waitress who had purchased a new, extremely tight watchband (Figure). After three weeks of wearing the band, paresthesia and annoying numbness developed in her hand. Examination showed that the patient had a positive Tinel's sign at the point of neurapraxia. She discontinued wearing the watchband, and three weeks later, her sensation returned to normal.
