TY - JOUR T1 - ACute adverse reactions to ibuprofen in systemic lupus erythematosus AU - Finch WR, Strottman M Y1 - 1979/06/15 N1 - 10.1001/jama.1979.03290500024015 JO - JAMA SP - 2616 EP - 2618 VL - 241 IS - 24 N2 - Three young women with systemic lupus erythematosus who were given ibuprofen for arthritis voluntarily discontinued taking the drug. On reinstitution of therapy, profound hypotension, fever, and headaches developed within hours, without other identifiable cause. A possible relationship to salicylate intolerance was considered. Because of these apparent side effects, we stress caution in the use of ibuprofen in systemic lupus erythematosus, particularly if there is any history of salicylate intolerance.(JAMA 241:2616-2618, 1979) SN - 0098-7484 M3 - doi: 10.1001/jama.1979.03290500024015 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/jama.1979.03290500024015 ER -
