Further studies are needed to determine how frequently such "accidents" occur in vaccination, Frederick C. Robbins, MD, told the Third International Conference on Congenital Malformations held in The Hague."The outlook for effective prevention of congenital rubella is very good, but there are unanswered questions about the duration of immunity," said Dr. Robbins, Nobel Laureate and dean of Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, Cleveland.Rubella's potential for damaging the fetus was the chief reason for developing vaccines against the disease, which SN - 0098-7484 M3 - doi: 10.1001/jama.1969.03160260005003 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/jama.1969.03160260005003 ER -
