The resolution gave the requirements for the award in general terms, which include a total of 150 creditable hours of educational activities over a threeyear period, of which 60 are to be Required Educational Activities.Required Educational Activities include continuing medical education courses, education for an advanced degree (other than an MD) in a medical field, medical research, medically related research, medical teaching, and publications and papers. The balance of the 150 creditable hours may be from Elective Educational Activities, which include attendance at scientific meetings, including national professional scientific meetings, preparation of scientific exhibits, and additional credits for medical teaching.An applicant may select the activities under Required and Elective Education that he wishes in earning creditable hours toward the award.
