Numbered paragraphs 5, 6, 7, and 8 of that report pertain to internships and residencies, the subject of this communication.This subject will be developed on a basis of the recent history leading up to the present position, recent communications following the December 1968 action, and a statistical description of the status of osteopathy today.While certain memorandums relating to these actions have already been distributed to all hospitals with approved internships and residency programs, as well as to other related organizations, it is important to record for the record, some of the historical events with which the majority of American physicians are probably relatively unfamiliar.
