Coley1 collected only seven cases from the literature, two of which occurred in the phalanges but in none was the primary disease in the lung. Lichtenstein2 cited one patient who had metastasis to bones of the foot, but in this patient the primary tumor was in the colon. However, Francis3 reported five cases, one each with primary tumor in the breast, colon, kidney, prostate, and lung. A recent case report4 discussed a renal cell carcinoma that metastasized to the great toe. Because of these few references in the literature, we are reporting this case of a patient who had carcinoma of the lung that metastasized to the great toe.Report of a Case:—  A 55-year-old woman came to the Lahey Clinic Foundation in September 1967 with the chief complaint of pain that had been present for SN - 0098-7484 M3 - doi: 10.1001/jama.1969.03160110135032 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/jama.1969.03160110135032 ER -
