TY - JOUR T1 - LAceration of the spinal cord related to breech delivery AU - Allen JP, Myers GG, Condon VR Y1 - 1969/05/12 N1 - 10.1001/jama.1969.03160060089017 JO - JAMA SP - 1019 EP - 1022 VL - 208 IS - 6 N2 - Three cases clearly demonstrate that spinal cord injuries associated with delivery have not vanished from medicine. Consideration should be given to spinal cord trauma after breech delivery in any stillborn, neonatal death, or paraplegic neonate. Myelography will often suggest the diagnosis of a spinal cord injury. The most frequent direct cause of spinal cord injury associated with delivery is excessive longitudinal traction applied to the fetus.
