TY - JOUR T1 - BEnign ureteral polyp in the newborn AU - Soderdahl DW, Schuster SR Y1 - 1969/03/03 N1 - 10.1001/jama.1969.03150220130024 JO - JAMA SP - 1714 EP - 1715 VL - 207 IS - 9 N2 - A benign ureteral polyp occurred in a newborn girl. We believe it is the youngest occurrence of ureteral tumor reported in the English literature. The patient had a mass in the left upper quadrant of the abdomen. Obstruction in the proximal part of the left ureter was confirmed by a retrograde dye injection into the ureter. A 2.0 × 0.5-cm polyp at the ureteropelvic junction was resected, and a dismemberment pyeloplasty was performed. We believe there is a developmental rather than an acquired basis for this polyp.
