This young agency with the impossible name (contracted to AAALAC) is doing a demonstrably possible job. It receives applications for accreditation from medical, dental, and veterinary schools; universities and colleges; hospitals; governmental agencies; pharmaceutical and biological laboratories; and other institutions that utilize experimental animals. The applicant facility is visited by two experienced veterinarians from the Council on Accreditation of AAALAC.
