In forty-four chapters the author has succeeded in incorporating much of the up-to-date material in otolaryngology. Considerable literature is represented. Although he states in his foreword that the book is intended for the undergraduate student and general practitioner, he has included rather advanced material that would not be considered applicable for this group. For example, much space is devoted to the description of the fenestration operation for otosclerosis and other advanced surgical procedures that certainly would not be carried out by a non-specialist physician.
