S. Marshal.—  Norman Baker, who moved his "cancer cure" business to Arkansas after being accused of quackery in Iowa, surrendered to the United States marshal on a federal indictment charging him with using the mails to defraud, according to the Chicago Tribune September 23. Baker was freed on a $10,000 bond after his surrender. Five members of his staff who were indicted with him also gave up and were released on bonds of $1,000 each. The indictments charge that the mails were used fraudulently in connection with a plan to obtain money for a cancer cure, it was stated. Baker is proprietor of the Baker Hospital at Eureka Springs. According to the report, members of the staff who surrendered with Baker are R. A. Bellows, hospital superintendent; Dr. Orville L. Beatty, Dr. William S. Hutto, Dr. Johnson L. Statler, and H. L.
