If one promptly injects the contents of one ampule of sodium cacodylate (three fourths grain [0.05 Gm.] to the cubic centimeter into and about the extravasation, no pain, necrosis or slough ensues. Salyrgan may also be combined with sodium cacodylate (an ampule of each) for giving painless intramuscular injections. I have given salyrgan and sodium cacodylate together subcutaneously with good results.
