N2  - This book is designed especially for younger hospital librarians with the hope that it may solve some of their problems and guide them in their service to the medical and nursing professions as well as in the service of those patients who require "bibliotherapy." In discussing books and therapy, the author suggests excluding certain types of books, and to do this the hospital librarian must have the interest and cooperation of the physician, the occupational therapist and the medical social worker. Interloan services between hospital and other libraries in the community are described. After a full discussion of the organization of hospital libraries, the author emphasizes the importance of professional libraries and the physician's greater reliance on current periodicals rather than on books.
