N2  - One of the most interesting and well-prepared books on health for the laity is this new addition to the field. The advisory board and the editorial board contain names known to almost everyone, and the book offers the culmination of what must have been a wealth of painstaking work. The book is beautifully prepared, is amply illustrated, is written in an understandable and straightforward manner, and unquestionably provides useful information in the way that will appeal to its users. It is not intended to be a guide for self-diagnosis and treatment but rather is a collection of information for those who are curious about health and disease. It contains some unusual information, for example, what a donor may do with his eyes after death.
