While many medical schools and teaching hospitals have attempted to organize obstetric instruction so that supervised training of students and interns may provide a maximum utilization of the teaching material available, there are still many patients and considerable free time outside the conventional academic year that may be utilized for undergraduate and graduate study.A commendable development of the past two years provides practicing physicians in several regions with the opportunity to spend from one to four weeks in hospitals with active ward services in obstetrics. In each the effort is cooperative.
