He has a fine sense of humor. Here he has collected six addresses made at various occasions, in which he pokes gentle fun at some of the exaggerations of modern medical science in the fields of psychology, pediatrics and physiology. In the course of his essays he conveys a great deal of practical information. One of the most interesting of the essays is the last, which has the title "Visceral Disharmony," in which he concludes with an analysis of the physiology of sex and love.
