The course was sponsored by the American Medical Association, U. S. Air Force, and Alaska Native Service, Department of the Interior. The clinic was designed primarily for Alaska Native Service doctors, who are in charge of remote Alaskan hospitals. Also in attendance at the conference were medical officers stationed in Alaska with the U. S. Air Force and Army and personnel of the Alaska Department of Health.The clinic marked the third year in which the AMA has cooperated with the Department of the Interior on Alaska's health problems. In previous years, clinics were held at all Alaska Native Service hospitals by AMA specialists.
