S. Department of Commerce from sixty-three cities with a total population of about 29 million, for the week ending October 5, indicate that the lowest mortality rate (7.7) was for Wilmington, and that the mortality rate for the group of cities as a whole was 11. The mortality rate for Wilmington for the corresponding week last year was 11.4 and for the group of cities, 12.3.DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA  Personal.  —Frank H. Chittenden, Sc.D., for many years with the bureau of entomology, U. S.
