TY - JOUR T1 - A manual of external parasites. Y1 - 1929/08/31 N1 - 10.1001/jama.1929.02710090057044 JO - Journal of the American Medical Association SP - 717 EP - 717 VL - 93 IS - 9 N2 - This is a useful book for sanitarians, veterinarians, parasitologists and biologists. Five important groups of external parasites—mites, ticks, biting lice, sucking lice and fleas—are minutely described as to external anatomy, life history and habits, classification and natural relationships. The illustrations, keys and tables will prove of great assistance to investigators in identifying species and genera. There are also brief practical control suggestions. In the preparation of the work, Dr. Ewing has made use of his own large collection of ectoparasites as well as that found in the National Museum in Washington. The author's zeal and industry in undertaking this unique work are highly commendable.
