The first six chapters concern malformations and anomalies, including malocclusion; in the seventh chapter accretions on the teeth are discussed, and the eighth chapter covers the subjects of erosion and abrasion. In the two succeeding chapters, dental caries is treated in somewhat greater detail than is usual because of the author's active interest in the subject matter. He maintains that "at the present time there is a considerable weight of evidence in support of the view that dental caries is an infectious disease and that Bacillus acidophilus is the specific micro-organism involved," an opinion that must be received with some reservation.
