As the need for a Turkish codex had been manifest for many years, however, the minister of hygiene in 1926 introduced a bill providing for the preparation of a Turkish pharmaceutic codex. The law reads as follows:Under the direction of the ministry of hygiene a special committee of fifteen members is to be charged with the preparation of a Turkish pharmaceutic codex. The members of this committee are to be appointed by the ministry of hygiene and are to be approved by the prime minister, after which the list is to be passed on to the president for final approval. A president, to be approved by the ministry of hygiene, is to be chosen from among the committee members.
