N2  - The mental hygiene of childhood has been so extensively discussed that the literature is now large. This volume is an exposition of the views of Alfred Adler of Vienna on the prevention of nervousness and behavior disorders, written for the parent and the teacher. For the most part the language is simple and easily understood by the layman and there is much that is enlightening and instructive. All disorders of behavior are analyzed on the basis of lack of courage or "feelings of inferiority," and the author frankly admits that it is a "single-track" view of the facts. While this makes the problems appear altogether too simple, even though it does not render the task of training a child to a courageous attitude toward life the easiest task in the world, there is still much that will be of help to parents and teachers and that might be read with
