To the Editor:  Better understanding of the effects of risk-reducing surgery on cancer risks and mortality is extremely relevant for geneticists and oncologists aiming at optimized counseling of BRCA mutation carriers. Dr Domchek and colleagues1 provided clinical data regarding risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) in a large cohort of BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation carriers, enabling investigation in women with and without a history of breast cancer separately. However, there are some issues that require consideration.
