Text Errors:  In the Original Contribution entitled “Association of Telomere Length of Peripheral Blood Leukocytes With Hematopoietic Relapse, Malignant Transformation, and Survival in Severe Aplastic Anemia,” published in the September 22/29, 2010, issue of JAMA  (2010;304[12]:1358-1364), incorrect data identification was published in the “Results” section of the abstract on page 1358. The clause that reads “evolution to monosomy 7 or complex cytogenetics was more common in the first quartile (HR, 18.8%; 95% CI, 3.5%-31.6%) than in quartiles 2 through 4 (HR, 4.5%; 95% CI, 0.5%-8.2%; P = .002)” should not have included either “HR.” In the Figure 3 legend on page 1362, the words “was observed” in the penultimate sentence should not have been included. The sentence should read: “A group with intermediate survival was defined by either a low ARC and longer telomere (quartiles 2 through 4) or a high ARC and with the shortest telomere length (first quartile).”
