Our fluid regimen was designed to ensure normovolemia. Blood loss was replaced 1:1 with colloids, and crystalloids were given, aiming at a postoperative body weight increase less than 1 kg. This strategy was chosen because it has been associated with fewer wound complications2 compared with the aggressive fluid strategy described in the trials by Greif et al3 and Belda et al.4 SN - 0098-7484 M3 - doi: 10.1001/jama.2010.91 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/jama.2010.91 ER -
