The bipartisan Viral Hepatitis and Liver Cancer Control and Prevention Act of 2009 (HR 3974 [http://thomas.loc.gov]) was introduced by Rep Michael Honda (D, Calif), chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. The measure would strengthen the ability of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to support state health departments in their hepatitis prevention, immunization, and surveillance efforts.
