In pediatrics, there is a dearth of published clinical trial data because studies in pediatrics are generally more difficult to conduct.2 A 2006 review revealed that studies conducted for drug approval in pediatrics were more likely to be published in the peer-reviewed literature when the results were positive.3 However, with the advent of the current US pediatric legislation, such data are increasingly accessible from the FDA for use in health care decision making.
