Pediatric Urology: Surgical Complications and Management is a new textbook that aims to “focus on surgical outcomes and hence complications in pediatric urology” It is written in an effort to expand the evidence-based management of complications in the field and ultimately “to improve surgical-based specialties.” At 342 pages and with more than 60 contributing experts, the book provides a comprehensive overview of surgical complications and their management in pediatric urology. Nearly the full range of pediatric urologic procedures is covered, including pyeloplasty, phalloplasty and hypospadias repairs, open and laparoscopic nephrectomy, robotic surgery, continent urinary diversion, orchiopexy, endoscopy, and bladder extrophy. The book is replete with tables, black-and-white illustrations, and photographs that present various surgical techniques and illustrate the causes and sequelae of the highlighted complications.
