We found that 33 investigators (84%) were unable to cite even 1 of the 3 International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) authorship criteria, 23 (59%) acknowledged having been recipients of guest authorship, and only 7 (18%) agreed that the 3 criteria must be met.
