In Reply: More than a decade ago, Linda Saltzman, PhD, a pioneer in the field of IPV prevention, said that “it is not possible to make inferences about the effect of screening without data.”1(p551) Data now exist from 2 randomized controlled trials of IPV screening, both of which show no benefit.2- 3 However, there remains resistance to moving beyond screening, as reflected in the letters by Dr Fanslow and Dr Lazarus and colleagues.
