The FHS investigators subsequently used risk factors to develop a multivariable model to predict the likelihood of a future coronary heart disease event. The model included several major cardiovascular risk factors that estimate the probability of developing an initial coronary disease event over the next 10 years and result in a risk score.2 This basic model is used around the globe.
