It includes the following points: What diabetes is and the principles of its treatment; the line rationed diet; examples of diet; insulin treatment; hypoglycemia; what to do when ill; diabetic cooking; recipes and food values, and care of the feet. Thus the author has brought out and summarized the essential points of the understanding of the diabetic condition and the necessary routine of treatment, bringing out many practical points which only a physician thus experienced could do. The line estimation of the food values which has become generally adapted in England is not used in the United States and is at first difficult to follow.
