TY - JOUR T1 - Immunology iv: Clinical applications in health and disease AU - Dolen WK Y1 - 2012/05/09 N1 - 10.1001/jama.2012.4475 JO - JAMA SP - 1980 EP - 1980 VL - 307 IS - 18 N2 - Since the publication of the first edition of Joseph Bellanti's Immunology in 1971, this highly dynamic field has progressed from being a theoretical discipline based in the mouse laboratory to a clinical specialty based on human genomic science. The venerable third edition, published in 1985, was a concise, readable resource for medical students, residents, fellows, and clinicians. With more than a thousand pages, 25 chapters written by 41 authors, and 3 appendices, the new fourth edition is no longer concise. However, it remains an invaluable and affordable resource for the previous edition's target audience. The book has been completely rewritten and brought into the information age—purchasers of the textbook receive access to a website providing interactive content.
