This theme issue of JAMA, devoted to medical education, continues an ongoing effort to peek under the hood at the factors that affect the success of the educational process. The articles are far-ranging, but broadly can be seen as addressing improvements in pedagogy, influences on professional success, the inclusiveness and attitudes of medical schools and their curricula, and conflicts of interest related to teaching.
