TY - JOUR T1 - Andrews’ diseases of the skin: Clinical dermatology AU - Shear S Y1 - 2012/01/04 N1 - 10.1001/jama.2011.1941 JO - JAMA SP - 92 EP - 92 VL - 307 IS - 1 N2 - This 11th edition of a textbook first published in 1930 is unique among recent new-edition dermatology texts for 3 reasons. First, the 968-page book is light and can easily be carried back and forth between home and work. Second, the large print used for the index is easily read without magnification. Third, all but the last 3 chapters were cowritten by 3 excellent general dermatologists: William James, Timothy Berger, and Dirk Elston. This approach lends a consistency of style difficult to duplicate in an edited, multiauthored work. The last 3 chapters—on lasers, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology—were written by guest author Isaac Neuhaus.
