To the Editor: The point by Dr
Burton and colleagues1 about autopsies 
is pertinent yet
obviously not universally appreciated. Families of patients with
third-party payers are billed for autopsies but if patients are
indigent, no monetary resources exist for autopsies to be performed.
These factors further thwart education afforded via autopsy
information.
