TY - JOUR T1 - GLycemic control and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes AU - Harari A, Iudica-Souza C Y1 - 1999/06/02 N1 - 10-1001/pubs.JAMA-ISSN-0098-7484-281-21-jbk0602 JO - JAMA SP - 1985 EP - 1986 VL - 281 IS - 21 N2 - Of 1007 patients screened who went through placebo washout, only 594 were subsequently eligible for the study. Excluding this many patients raises a question of selection bias and may not make the results of the study applicable to the general population.2 Additionally, 21% of the patients had not been receiving any therapy prior to randomization. Knowing how this population of untreated patients was distributed in the 2 groups would be helpful.
