Those physicians have chosen to work in corrections, providing appropriate and compassionate care to inmate-patients, a population with serious and challenging medical needs. Consequently, I was surprised and disappointed to see JAMA publish 2 articles by Mr Skolnick1- 2 that promulgated a negative stereotype of these dedicated physicians who work in correctional health care.
